This project included the construction of a new mid-rise (7-storeys) apartment building with underground parking garage, indoor parking on the ground floor, amenities such as a meeting room and fully equipped gym. The mechanical and electrical system included a decentralized heating and cooling system including mini-split heat pumps and electrical baseboards for supplemental heating inside the units. Ventilation was provided by dedicated HRV units both for the apartments and common areas. A backup generator was also provided for this building to provide back-up power to the fire pump for the fire protection system.  

The project was developed alongside our Atlantic partners at Spitfire Design Co from Moncton where our local office is situated.

The project was completed with some complications but successfully delivered to the owner for occupation.

The project addressed the following activities:

  • Review of all available background data;
  • Participate in regular design meetings;
  • Prepared detailed mechanical and electrical engineering design;
  • Communication with the architect, and the client;
  • Construction management services to assist the client and their sub-trades to tackle construction challenges;
  • Regular construction inspections and reports;
  • Final inspection and certificate.
