As the Geotechnical Engineer for our new Pembroke office, you will play a key role in both technical engineering tasks and business development.
This unique position offers the flexibility to work from our new office and remotely, allowing for a balance of office-based and home-based work.
Close proximity to our Pembroke office is required.
1. Technical Engineering:
- Conduct site inspections, soil testing(as required), and field investigations.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including analysis and recommendations.
- Develop and review geotechnical designs and specifications for various projects local to the Ottawa Valley, and supporting our National Capital Region projects.
- Provide technical support and solutions to clients and our Multidisciplinary project teams.
2. Business Development:
- Act as one of the main contacts for our Pembroke office, representing the company in the local market.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and potential clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare proposals, and presentations for potential projects.
- Participate in networking events and industry associations to promote the company’s services.
3. Project Management:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with other engineers, technicians, and subcontractors as necessary.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to clients and senior management.
- Resolve any project-related issues or challenges that may arise.
4. Administrative and Office Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Pembroke office.
- Ensure the office is well-organized and equipped with necessary resources, requesting support from the Ottawa branch as required.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records as per our company standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Ontario or eligibility to obtain it.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to business development, and client relationships.
- Knowledge of local market and industry trends in Pembroke and surrounding areas is a plus.
-Strong technical skills in geotechnical analysis, design, and report preparation .
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site inspections and client meetings.
