Job brief

As an Environmental Technician/Technologist, you have the opportunity to balance your work environment with a wide array of site work and settings, as well as office activities where you will compile and present data collected during your hands-on efforts in collaboration with engineer staff to support projects in the environmental engineering service department.

Working Conditions

The majority of your time will be spent on a wide range of sites, including construction projects, remote forests, rural undeveloped lands and commercial/industrial facilities throughout Ontario and Western Quebec. When not on-site, we offer the opportunity for a hybrid work model.

Duties
  • Coordinating and conducting environmental assessment fieldwork.
  • Collecting soil, groundwater, surface water, air and bulk building material samples.
  • Conducting site monitoring and surveying of varying complexity.
  • Documenting field activities and data.
  • Compiling, processing, and presenting field data in tables, figures and plans.
  • Analyzing data following standard methods.
Candidate Specifications
  • Experience in and willing to undertake fieldwork year-round in any weather conditions.
  • Experience with prescribed safety and technical protocols.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and Knowledgeable with the AutoCAD drafting program.
  • Independent and reliable worker with the ability to work with a team as well as the ability to complete tasks individually.
  • Must be personable and have excellent communication skills.
  • Being bilingual (French and English) is a strong asset.
  • Dedicated to quality of work and the ability to act in a professional manner.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Educational & Certification Requirements
  • College Diploma in Environmental Technology or equivalent.
